May Flowers.....

I've had some...the dandelions have been the most prolific. I can't believe it's nearly June though!

We had night time visitors the other night. Two raccoons were out by the front porch looking at me when I opened the front door to call Knoel inside. I told him the bad element was out there if he stayed out to late. They were waiting for him - probably were going to entice him into joining them in thievery or something...snort, I'll say it - they had masks on already! I shooed them off into the woods...waited a few moments then called Knoel who came slinking around the corner. Good boy - I don't think he wanted to play with them.

Further adventures in used/refurbished...I now have a skinny LG vx8600 cell phone. It's up and running including my bluetooth headset for an amazing $15...I think I like this mode of purchasing especially when I'm not too excited about $$ for features I don't use. So, I've been told an extra battery and USB charger are ordered so for around$25 I'll be in business......music and books on a card ..I'm good to go.

Hhhmm...nobody cleaned up after dinner...that "nobody" sure gets away with stuff around...

Have a good night all

Catching up....

Well it's not as if I have been totally out of contact - what with Twitter stuff over there ------>

Memorial Day Weekend...May 30th, however, will always be Remembrance Day to me. Our Town always had a big parade and all of us Scouts would march to the Veterans cemetery. The schools would hold competitions and one boy would recite the Gettysburg Address and one girl would recite In Flanders Fields....I liked Andy Rooney's comment last night ...something about remembering to come up with a different way to deal with conflicts so we never have to sent our young people into battle ever again.

I like our sons and wives and families. This time Morgan and Nora came up to visit for the weekend. We laughed and played and ate...They made Mar-a-lago Turkey burgers which really were quite tasty. We made a Costco run - shrimp, pizza, wine etc. They also got us the Steven Spielberg Boom Blox game for the Wii...yes I have another Wii injury. I don't think one is supposed to actually throw the remote that hard but some of us (coughmecough) have trouble with things like that. " All the baby cows are lost"...snort - poor things will never survive my jenga-like skills.

Sigh one of the cars has a slow leaking tire...hate that - hope it's just a bad fit rather than a blurp in the wheel rim. Seeing as how the snow tire was doing the same thing, I'm suspecting someone but a ding in the rim - damn potholes.

Yes, the woodchip boiler will not be built thanks to the voters who overwhelmingly (this time) defeated the request to continue to use bond money to build it. Next on the agenda...the notion that anyone with an agenda can do anything they darn well please and ask for permits after the fact. It's nice that the snowboard team has carved out a niche for themselves to practice their sport but do the words clear cutting, wetlands and law suits mean anything to you?

Oh my, the Ice Cream truck is going by...ring-a-ding tune of Home on the range. I'm sure those drivers are downright batty by the end of the summer....o/'o/'o/'It's a small world o/'o/'o/'.

Moving right along...my lilies of the valley are blooming as is the rhododendron out front...thank heavens for Hostas too - all these things that need no attention and just grace me with their presence - like the moss. Whew.

It just may be time to be more productive...or something. have a fine day all

Happy Mother's Day

......to all who are or have them.

Phone calls were received...as were presents of the Coach and Webkinz variety...;-D

I played all day; didn't get dressed until after noon sometime, which is why we may end up with weird food for dinner. I didn't go out to get any and we all know how difficult it is to call in for food.

As far as Home is concerned:

Roomba#1 is sick - he doesn't seem to want to hold a charge so he just comes out to vacuum then dies. Hrumph. Roomba #2 does well as long as we go over and start him up. I really got used to having the carpet relatively cat hair free.

Oh yeah, we got home from New Mexico just fine...no red-eyes but it still takes days to recover from all that frivolity. The Temptations put on a great show - well that is until they announced they were going to take us way back in time to 1968 - ahem...I was a freshman in College for Pete's sake! A growed- up even!

The grass is very green here too - I may just have to get the lawnmower out and get it cranked up for the season. Fortunately the moss is greening up as well so there isn't as much grass in the lawn in some place. Hell no I'm not going to kill the moss - it's green isn't it?

I got the snow tires removed from the cars...Yes! back to those good old wide gummy tires - wee one with the road. I do still love to drive especially if there is no one else on the road. and no one with a blue light on their roof either and I'm not talking K-mart here ya know.

Nothing else much new around here.....make yourself a fine week all.
