Um...
So, here I am.
Bet you sure were getting sick of seeing our upgraded terrace, huh? Yeah well, *I* hope to see it again, up close and personal.
Christmas has come and gone, we lost electricity for allof 45 minutrs one Friday night.
We visited Granny at The Home.
WE ate food..a lot.
We kidnapped my neighbor's husband and force fed him lobster stew until his wife agreed to join us on Sunday night. Crazy kids.
We barely got out of our pajamas for a few days...I think one of us lasted longer than the others but I won't say who coughDavidcough. We = me, Greg, his sister and her husband.
We ate more food.
Amazing how quiet this place is after people who aren't particularly noisy in the first place, leave.
Maybe we'll take some pictures this weekend...the Grandkiddies are coming tomorrow with their parents. Yea!!
Happy New Year all

This and That , More or Less
So here we are in Seattle again. It is raining again...whooppee!
Looks like there are some perks for staying in hotels many nights a year. This week we were upgraded to a two bedroom - two bathroom suite on the top floor with and amazing 3 sided terrace for amazing 3 sided views ( downtown, the space needle and Lake Union ). We even have a huge picture window over the sink in the kitchen AND a full size stove. I could get used to this.
Things I learned on the trip out here this time:
...there is ANOTHER great guy who gave up his aisle seat and take a middle seat so a couple could sit together. These are the people who should get reward points or something.
...a loudmouth blowhard is recognizable in any language
...One can nearly get whiplash while falling asleep while the plane is taxiing to the runway and "falling" forward suddenly. It is also a little embarrassing ;-D
...The shuttle driver forgot me at the market today...I was afraid the people at the drug store were going to have me hauled off as a squatter or at the very least start charging me rent on the space I was taking up in the chair near the door while waiting. sigh. ( his excuse was he was taking two ladies to the same place he was scheduled to pick me up...they changed their minds and had him drop them elsewhere so he forgot he was supposed to get me..he was quite apologetic)
...There was a pile of emergency vehicles sent to the docks across the way this morning. The news was reporting a suspected boat fire...guess if one of those babies blows, they all can go...eeewww. pppssst did I mention I have a spectacular view of the lake?
...the top of the Space Needle is decorated in lights to resemble a Christmas Tree.
Have a fine Evening all

Christmas Lights et al....
The neighborshood is all dressed up in holiday lights...well, all the houses surrounding the strange house behind the hedges; that one looked a little naked. So today I was determined to make my hula-hoop/greens/lights for the side of the house. I got out all the "stuff" but instead of using real greens this year, I decided to use some fake trim left over from my mother's Christmas stash. (Yeah, I still have all her stuff after, what?,8 years?) It is pretty cheesy BUT, I won't have to remake it every year AND no one can really tell from street....much. Maybe next year I'll use real greens again ...maybe
Amazed as I was, I was also thrilled to have all the parts together; the box with the lights and the on/off timer was right there with the hula hoop in the garage. Of course it also started to snow while I was assembling it all in the den but at least it wasn't as cold or windy as yesterday and I was still determined.
Hhhhmmmm...gee that Timer sure is dirty, dusty looking. Yeah, well, it was in the garage, what do you want? But it was in a box, it shouldn't be all that bad. The box was open. Soooo? Hey what's that? Why does the plug look like it has a dried up wad of mud surrounding the prongs? hhmmm...grass sticking out of it? Nooooo. Look closer...are those ears? Feet? toenails? A tail? Good lord, there was a petrified mouse wrapped around the prongs of the timer. I knew this was sufficient grounds for buying a new timer but I really didn't want to go out...and I really wanted to get the "wreath" up.
Yup...flipped off the mouse into the woods. EEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
Gross.........wash hands fifty times even though I used paper towels.
So now, My wreath is up and lit..........our house doesn't look quite so mousey tonight. So to speak...;-D
Have a good evening all..........oh yeah, I tried to take photos but the glare from the fur was a problem. There must be a really good reason you all were spared the visual.
