Cat Days of Summer

It stopped raining! Ok, it's been stopped for a few days now and summer is here. It's been in the high 80s low 90s and a total shock to our systems. ~Elmo seems to have found his place draped across the table on the porch....after all we did have a nice breeze with our heat yesterday. The breeze kept the mosquitoes at bay for a bit, too, good grief those things are huge this year!
The upstairs bathroom is all ready for Leo this morning. What? you though he was gone? Not quite yet. Just one more thing....new floor for the upstairs bathroom. I took out the old carpeting..how disgusting...I even emptied the linen closet and washed down the walls and ceiling. Amazing how even that is an improvement up there. Too bad Ernie used press board on the floors though, it all needs to come up especially around the toilet and tub. More Disgusting. I saved Leo from cursing out Ernie (who built the house), this time though; my half hour task of ripping out the carpet was foiled by needing to get it out from under the walls. Cut rip pull, slice, tug, cut unravel-this would be me unraveling, curse... As with many other rooms in this place, Ernie built walls and closets on top of the carpeting. I suppose nothing beats his building the exterior wall/sliding glass doors on the carpet trick but this is classic, Ernie, as well sigh. I think we only have 3 more rooms of carpeting where we might find it under the closets...there will be an end to the madness some day.
Have a fine day all....if you need me, I may be competing for space out on the porch with ~Elmo....

Elmo looks so comfortable, I would compete also if I was there! Take care.
