Gaze your two eyes on these....
It's Flower show 2006 in Vermont......Seeing these tulips and all the other flowers amid the cold blustery snowy day yesterday was almost worth the $10 admission price. Hmmm we may have to rethink this next year. Remember the tulips. ( Sorry I didn't resize the photo further, the effect wouldn't be as grand...they were spectacular.)
The flower show is good for getting ideas, though...saw some great looking heather plants that would be wonderful for around the front porch area...and some boxwoods...yeah yeah..I have a little better luck when nature just does her thing outside and allows plants to live in the wild..yeah free range plants, that's what I need.
Leo has left us for the time being, almost felt like a member of the family going off to live somewhere else. I did manage to get him to fix my dishwasher and slice off the bottoms of the doors where they didn't fit the new carpet height, first. Aaahhh.... Anyway, he'll be back to remove debris and seal the shingles. We also still have this little issue of water pouring off the roofs (yes plural) when it rains. We've been trying to redirect the flow away from the front door/steps/porch but so far it still comes pouring off in pretty hard Stream. Leo has a plan BUT I think we discovered another way to deal with it....lets not try to hide it or disperse it...lets USE it in a brand new design feature for the front yard...
Behold in extended entry
Hehehehe...what do you think?

Subtle? Moi? How about we just build a rock pile up to the roof right there where all the water pours off - you know, right there next to the purple door with yellow spots! Yeah, that would define subtle. 00000... 000, then we can build a canal off the porch down onto the ground, dam it, then get some pets like turtles and gators - 0000, 000 a MOAT - yes! we can build a moat!!! stick with your ole mother, Morgan. I can teach you about subtle. snort
