What? Me worry?
So here we are on the eve of the big S day. Yes siree Tomorrow is my septoplasty/turbinoplasty; I'm so looking forward to being able to breathe like a normal person. Of course, that's what *I* think is going to happen tomorrow. I'm a little concerned what "they" think.
Things were going along smoothly. I had my pre-surgery physical complete with EKG 2 weeks ago. No I wasn't thrilled with the new Dr and her assistant but I'll deal. I passed muster and am cleared for surgery.
I had my pre-surgical interview with the anesthesiologist office last week..that went well. She did say I had to remove all jewelry.. something about conductivity..willies! I windexed my wedding band off this morning since I feared it was going to have to be cut off. Strange how it has an oval shape to it now after 33 years..maybe I should see if I can find someone to round it out again.
This morning, the hospital registration person called to pre-admit me. No wasting time in stupid lines for me..nope nope nope. 6am, yup, I'll be there for my 7;30 am surgery. yup..no food no phone no pets but I'll be there.
I had an agenda in place for getting to and from the hospital trying very hard not to put too much of a strain on my neighbors at such unGodly hours and boredom.......
Thhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnn, the Dr office called to confirm my surgical appointment.....for 2:35pm. Hhhmmm...silence on my part...crickets...um...excuse me but I think I'm suppose to be there at 6am for a 7:30 am procedure..out of there by 11am ..coffee to follow. ooh yes, Mrs J..Dr B likes to look over the schedule and rearrange to suit him. You are now scheduled for 2:35pm so please be there at 12:30 for check in.
Me: ok....I'm really glad someone told me in such a timely manner, I would have been there at 6am...
She: that would not have been good.
Yeah right lady..I really did ask if she was sure........
I had not thought about questioning them before this...Mrs J, Nov 15th, septoplasty etc...
I think I'm relieved the man is limited to ears noses and throats, at least I don't have to worry about losing a limb or have heart bypass. of course he could end the snoring with the uvula bob instead....
Have a good day all...wish me luck.
