Of Bears, Snakes and Kids.

Today's coffee: Australian Mountain Top...still being brewed in the Jura capresso one cup at a time. A few more weeks at home and I could very well suffer from "Jetson finger".

Ack...I just don't have the heart of an opportunist. Can someone explain to be why, when all the flap surrounding the Vt Teddy Bear's "Crazy for you" campaign, I just didn't drive 5 miles down the road and buy a bunch of these things? They're selling on eBay right now for more than 4 times their original selling prices. I just watched 2 sell for $282 and they are $70 bears. I could have been supporting our vacuum coffee brewer addiction!

Did I mention I've taken to undocking my laptop in the evening, dragging it to the living room so I can watch our auctions end while watching TV? No, I'm not obssessed, just interested...yeah, interested.

We have other lives...Being the good grandma that I am, I have tried hard not to pass on my snake phobia to another generation. If I recall correctly one son and I had a very hard time trying to herd one out of our yard. 10 miles radius is too close for me and these are just garter snakes. Of course, I don't say I'm afraid of snakes..just that I don't like them "because they don't have legs" and I can't hear them coming. Maura called last week to tell us about her field trip to the pet store and how she petted the snake and how smooth he was. willies...I get the gross willies thinking about my sweet little grand-daughter petting a snake! Ack..this is a child who was afraid of cats and dogs! Please don't let her have a "pet"!!

Owen, neighbor's grandson and of the "I bet Jesus would like this farm set for his birthday" fame, was being scolded by his mother recently. Guess he didn't take this scolding very well and declared "I'm leaving!" Piece of work little sister, Anna (3),calmly crooked her finger and declared, "There's the door." I just love seeing the parents and sometimes grandparents(grandfather) in this generation!

I really need to get out more. We've been having a heat wave this week...30s and 40s for temperatures; the snow is melting. I should at least drive around the driveway some and make tire tracks in the slush before it all freezes again. (tonight)It can get mighty slick out there if left alllll nice and smooth.

Enjoy the day all...

Too funny, Fran. You know, don't you, that I support your eBay addiction (validation for my own, of course). Makes sense to me to have your computer and television close! About the Vt teddy bears, what can I say? Next time, you will jump in and become a seller (sorry for the social-worky answer :)Enjoy the heat wave, and have fun on eBay!
P.S. I don't like snakes either...it's a family thing with us!
