Friday this and that........

Yeah, I know I said i would write a post about vacuuming brewing but I think this link says it all a LOT better than I could ever explain. Besides, he has also has a wonderful vacuum pot collection on his site as well. We have a lot of the same ones too...which is your favorite??

Our eBay purchases have been trickling in ..one two or three a day. I suppose it had been doing that while we were gone last week as well, but there is still something thrilling about coming home to 9, 10 eleven packages. Yes, I am still keeping up with the recycling but I'm willing to bet the recycles guys wouldn't believe it's only a 2 week accumulation. I can learn...we certainly don't want a repeat of being admonished by the recycling guys for hoarding...afterall they do make the extra effort to back all the way into our yard now to pick up our recycling instead of making us drag it out front like normal people. I'm special.

I managed to give over 3 more shelves of my cabinet space to vacuum pots. Some obscure booze was relegated to the laundry room although I'm sure it would have been fine to pitch it into the trash. The super casual dining utensils ( ie paper plates, etc) have been piled on top of the Lennox china in their little quilted china clothes. This obviously only goes to show which of these gets used more often. The only thing that really had to get moved to the basement storage was my huge lobster pot and his sidekick I use for many corn on the cob cooking. I ask you..who can honestly say they need to have these items in their cabinets all the time? Actually I used to point them out as the indication of just how much cabinet space I really had in my kitchen!

So, the cache on the kitchen table was organized and filed with like items on the shelves.. Cory pots here...Silex there...pretty out front..uglies in the back. Uglies and pretties are in the eye of the beholder ya know. At any rate..there is room for a few more which is really a good thing...there are a few more coming.

hhhmmmm....do we really need this rice? Cereal anyone? You know I bet we have could turn the coat closet in the hall into a repository for vac pots...how stunning that would be! Must get the tape measure..

Have a fun weekend all.......

Ok on possibly not being served any wonderful coffee when I come to visit while underemployed or employment challenged....Why are so many vacuum pots needed? IS anyone better than another?

Wow, I'm trying to visualize what you're doing to your kitchen. Makes me want to visit just to see your display and taste your coffee!!! :-)

Ah, some of buy books, some buy vacuum pots. Have you ever lost one due to shipping damage?

oops, I meant to say "some of us" buy books, etc.

I imagine going home to see my parents and discovering there is no food anywhere in the house and every cubboard I open is filled with vacuum pots, or drip pots, or french presses or crazy glass tubes with which arcane experiments involving special spring water and the ripest beans picked during the prime three day harvest period of the remote south east facing mountian terrace of some Djibouti farmer named Kurt are performed.

Then, hungry and highly caffinated I try to go to sleep only to find my old bed has been replaced with a giant pile of green coffee beans and Jaun Valdez sit's twitching in the corner screaming, "THE DONKEY! THE DONKEY HAS NO LIPS!!!"

...and they wonder why it's "hard for me to find the time to visit"

Ahem..I beleive we still have beds for visitors sans donkey poop although I'm afraid there may still be vermin scat in Morgan's old room somewhere. Yeah I know he's really been gone for 9 years..change takes time and I really haven't "needed" the space. Soon ...soon.

..and guess who has cherry picked the very best coffee beans from the stash we bring to CT/NY when we visit?

Beth..we got our first damaged goods the other day but it was definitely the seller's fault not FedEX...he just sent the pot in it's off the shelf packaging..No way is glass "globes" going to survive that.

I wondered about shipping damage, and as an eBay seller, I would probably pack the poor thing like it was travelling to Mars! When I sell a CD, I wrap tissue paper around it before putting it in a bubble mailer!
