Come Back Safely.....

About 600 Vermont National Guard men and women left today for deployment to Iraq. I just happened to be out and about as their 11 bus motorcade was given special passage of honor on their way to the airport. Many people lined the route with businesses flying banners and flags and balloons. The School children from one of the local elementary schools with their building on the main route were out in force as well. I was pleased to be able to join them. I hope those who are leaving know how much they are respected.

I admit it gave me goosebumps while I was standing there as well as tears. 600 people from little old Vermont is a huge contingent.
