Aftermath...

I think I am surprised that George W Bush seems to have won re-election. Provisional ballots...guess it's better than hanging chads but still...

I still feel honest about my vote. I read the the position statements of the Libertarian candidate and tend to agree with the most part with what stated. I realize the mainstream two party system is probably here to stay but I kept saying I could not in good conscience agree with either one of them. How many times could I say that, then turn around and vote for one of them just because there was no other viable alternative? I couldn't and I didn't.

Vermont went with John Kerry without me and I had a nightmare that he won. That is one thing I don't understand right this minute...I would have voted for him and yet my sleep state was worried about a Kerry victory. I'll have to ponder that.

In the meantime, I think it's time to stop Bush bashing and get on with uniting this country and move forward. Maybe it's really time to let our congressional representatives hear from us on issues...visit their web sites, leave messages, get involved. Letting things slide until we get to do something every four years is not working for nearly 49% of the country.

To say I am disappointed with the outcome of this election is an understatment. I blame it all on the Redsoxs breaking the curse. If they had not won the world series, then, when the Redskins lost to Greenbay, it would have assured a loss to the incumbent president. There's a lesson in that ole saying "Be careful of what you wish". ;-)

Now let's get back in the game, come togther and show the world that what it means to be united in this country. We aren't the "United States" for nothing.
